We help every student shine!

At Our Lady Queen of Peace, we believe it is important for students to pursue interests to find what they are passionate about. We give them exposure to a range of exciting opportunities to unlock their creative potential, develop a talent or follow a passion.

Creative and Performing Arts

We encourage our students to explore their passions and talents. We have a range of opportunities available for students to participate in creative and performing arts activities and programs such as music, drama and dance.

Our students have many opportunities to perform at our Creative Arts Expo, Education Week, eisteddfods and special masses. They can participate in the school choir, Dance Fever program, and specialised music lessons.

By participating in CAPTIVATE, the diocesan arts initiative, our students experience incredible opportunities to grow and show their talents.

    Social Justice

Our students are offered a wide variety of local community activities to help develop a sense of pride, respect and responsibility for themselves and others. This positive participation and actions can be seen in how we interact and learn with one another, work collaboratively and take ownership of our behaviour as well as active involvement in faith-based experiences.

In recent years, our students have participated in outreach and fundraising activities with:

    • Youth off the Streets
    • Mini-Vinnies (St Vincent de Paul Society)
    • Schools in East Timor

Students also visit aged care residents and undertake environmental sustainability projects.

    Excursions, Camps and Retreats

Every student loves to get out of the classroom and explore.

Our students benefit greatly from school trips where they are able to observe new things not available at school such as rare and exotic wildlife and plants, different cultures and the stories of our history. These experiences lead to deeper understanding of learning subjects.

Camps and retreats are also wonderful opportunities for students to develop independence, grow in faith, form strong friendships and make life-long memories!

The following are some other extra-curricular activities that may be offered at Our Lady Queen of Peace.

    Voice of Youth public speaking
    UNSW competitions
    Chess contests
    NSW Premier's Reading Challenge
